McCafé® Unveils Eco-Friendly Espresso Coffee Capsules for Nespresso® Machines

TORONTO – McCafé® is brewing up excitement with its latest innovation: a new range of Espresso Coffee Capsules designed for Nespresso®* Original Coffee Machines. These new capsules, made from a blend of Rainforest Alliance Certified Arabica beans, promise not only exceptional flavor but also an eco-conscious choice, as they are commercially compostable through a collaboration with TerraCycle®†.

This new line offers a trio of roasts tailored to various taste preferences. Coffee enthusiasts can enjoy the light roast’s sweet caramel undertones, the medium roast’s rich chocolate and hazelnut flavors, or the dark roast’s deep notes of dark chocolate and roasted almonds. Each capsule is crafted to provide a consistently smooth, well-balanced cup of coffee topped with a luxurious crema.

Jeff Kroll, Chief Strategy Officer and SVP at McDonald’s Canada, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability with this launch. “The new McCafé Espresso Coffee Capsules set a new standard in the Canadian coffee market, combining our signature quality with a format that aligns with our environmental goals,” Kroll remarked.

The capsules are not only a treat for coffee lovers but also a step towards reducing environmental impact. McCafé is partnering with TerraCycle to offer a free mail-back program for composting and recycling. Consumers can easily join the program by signing up on TerraCycle’s website and obtaining a free shipping label.

These new McCafé Espresso Coffee Capsules are now available at select retailers across Canada. For further details on the product and the composting program, visit: McCafé Espresso.

†The composting program is available in Canada, excluding Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories. More information can be found at TerraCycle.
