On the Road with a Roast: Mazda Launches Coffee Tourism Tour Across Toronto
TORONTO – Mazda Canada is brewing up a bold new adventure—inviting Canadians to hit the open road, one café at a time. On May 23, in partnership with the Coffee Association of Canada, Mazda officially launched the Mazda Coffee Tour, a cross-country celebration of coffee culture, local travel, and community connection.
The tour kicks off with two curated routes across Toronto, spotlighting eight independent cafés that reflect the city’s diverse and vibrant coffee scene. From tucked-away roasters to stylish neighbourhood staples, each stop encourages Torontonians and tourists alike to sip, drive, and discover.
Rooted in Mazda’s “Move and Be Moved” campaign, the initiative combines the exploration of local culture with the growing trend of coffee tourism—a travel experience centred around learning about and enjoying the nuances of local coffee communities.
A Nation of Coffee Lovers, A New Way to Travel
“Coffee is more than just a beverage for Canadians—it’s part of our identity,” said Robert Carter, President of the Coffee Association of Canada. “This tour is about reconnecting with the spaces and small businesses that fuel our daily lives.”
According to a national survey commissioned by Mazda:
-
60% of Canadians are interested in a coffee-themed road trip
-
7 in 10 have taken a road trip in the past year
-
21% have already driven over an hour for a great cup of coffee
-
64.5% would prefer to tour cafés in their own city first
Motivations vary across generations—Gen Z is seeking social media-worthy moments, Millennials crave new flavour experiences, while Boomers and Gen X appreciate the scenic, local, and sustainable appeal of coffee-driven exploration.
Official Rides: Mazda CX-90 and CX-70
Mazda’s electrified SUVs—the CX-90 and CX-70—have been named the official vehicles of the Mazda Coffee Tour. These hybrid models combine performance with environmental mindfulness, aligning perfectly with the eco-conscious values of coffee tourists.
Awarded the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+, the CX-90 and CX-70 are designed for families, friends, and solo travellers seeking both adventure and comfort. With seating for up to eight and plug-in hybrid capabilities, they’re made for spontaneous detours and long-haul drives alike.
Explore Toronto’s Coffee Gems
While the full list of featured cafés hasn’t been disclosed yet, the tour promises a mix of cultural stops—from Ethiopian-style brews to modern Japanese-style pour-overs. Each visit offers a deeper connection to the stories behind the beans and the people who serve them.
Mazda encourages Canadians to visit mazda.ca/coffee to begin their own journey—and maybe even find their next favourite brew just around the corner.
