Maple Leafs Fall to Bruins in OT Despite Strong Push

BOSTON – In a thrilling away game on October 26, 2024, the Toronto Maple Leafs suffered a close 4-3 overtime loss to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. The Maple Leafs, with standout performances from stars Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, fought hard but ultimately fell to a game-winning goal from Bruins’ Brad Marchand.

The second period saw Toronto excel, with goals from Matthew Knies and Morgan Rielly, assisted by Marner, who tallied three assists in the game. Knies’ opening goal, an even-strength strike assisted by Matthews, set an early tone. However, Boston rallied, capitalizing on Toronto penalties, with David Pastrnak scoring on the power play.

In overtime, Marchand netted the decisive goal with an assist from Pastrnak, closing a night where Toronto struggled against Boston’s sustained offense and physical play. Anthony Stolarz kept Toronto competitive, saving 30 of Boston’s 34 shots.

Toronto now looks to refine their defense, especially in high-stakes situations, as they continue their road trip with a matchup against the Jets in Winnipeg on Monday.
