Mail-in Voting Applications for Ward 25 By-Election Due September 4
Scarborough-Rouge Park residents reminded of key deadlines for September 29 council vote
Toronto, ON — Eligible voters in Ward 25, Scarborough-Rouge Park, are reminded that the deadline to apply for mail-in voting in the upcoming City Council by-election is Thursday, September 4 at 4:30 p.m.
How to Apply for Mail-in Voting
Residents can apply online at toronto.ca/VoteByMail or by calling 416-338-1111 and pressing ‘5’. Applicants will receive a confirmation code by email, which can be used to track the status of their Mail-in Voting package. Packages will begin mailing out on Monday, September 8.
Voter Information Cards (VICs)

VICs will be mailed starting Thursday, September 11 to voters who are on the list by September 4.

Voters can also access a digital VIC on the MyVote webpage and present it on a mobile device with valid ID.

A VIC is not required to vote and is not considered valid identification.
Voters’ List Additions and Updates
Eligible voters must add or update their name by 7 p.m. on September 21 for it to appear on the printed list at polling stations.
If not already on the list, voters can register at the polls with valid ID:

Advance voting: September 20–21, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.

Election Day: September 29, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
Proxy Voting
Those unable to vote in person or by mail may appoint a proxy who is eligible to vote in Toronto. Proxy forms must be certified by the City Clerk no later than September 29 at 4:30 p.m. Certification can be completed at City Hall, 89 Northline Road (by appointment), or during advance voting at:

In case of a postal disruption, voters can:

Use the MyVote portal to access a digital VIC.

Receive alternate instructions for voting if they have already applied for mail-in voting.
Election Day
The by-election to fill the Ward 25, Scarborough-Rouge Park council seat takes place on Monday, September 29. Voting will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
