Lucid Air Earns Top Safety Rating from NHTSA for 2025 Model Year

NEWARK, Calif.,  – Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID), a leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced that its luxury sedan, the Lucid Air, has achieved the highest possible safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for the 2025 model year. The NHTSA awarded the Lucid Air five stars in its New Car Assessment Program, the U.S. government’s benchmark for vehicle safety.

The Lucid Air, which includes the Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire models, scored the maximum five stars across the board in all safety testing categories, which include frontal crash, side crash, and rollover tests. This recognition places the Lucid Air among the safest vehicles on the market, giving consumers added confidence in the car’s comprehensive safety features.

Lucid’s design team prioritized safety from the outset, incorporating a high-strength, lightweight aluminum body and an innovative battery pack design that enhances structural integrity. According to Erich Bach, Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer at Lucid, achieving five stars in NHTSA testing was expected, given the rigorous engineering standards applied to the vehicle’s development. “Safety has been a top priority from the outset at Lucid, and achieving five stars in NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program will give owners further confidence in their Lucid Air,” said Bach.

The NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program, established to help consumers evaluate vehicle safety, conducts comprehensive crash tests and rates vehicles based on their ability to protect occupants. A five-star rating, the program’s highest, reflects outstanding performance in each of these tests.

As Lucid continues to expand its footprint in the electric vehicle market, safety achievements like this bolster its reputation for innovation and quality.
