Denver Barkey scores twice as Knights defeat Medicine Hat Tigers 4–1 in championship game

RIMOUSKI, QC — The London Knights secured their third Memorial Cup title with a decisive 4–1 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on June 1, 2025, at Colisée Financière Sun Life. Captain Denver Barkey led the charge with two goals, while Easton Cowan added a goal and an assist, earning the Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Jacob Julien opened the scoring in the first period, and the Knights extended their lead with three goals in the second. Goaltender Austin Elliott made 31 saves to secure the win. The Knights’ victory marks their third Memorial Cup championship, following titles in 2005 and 2016.
