TORONTO — The LEGO Group is expanding its global sports lineup with a new football-themed collection, transforming some of the world’s biggest players — including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Júnior — into LEGO minifigures for the first time.

The launch arrives as anticipation builds for the FIFA World Cup 2026, offering fans a new way to engage with the sport through collectible builds and display pieces.

From the Pitch to the Living Room

The new LEGO Editions football sets are designed to appeal to a wide audience, combining buildable models with collectible elements that highlight each player’s career and signature moments.

The lineup includes two primary categories:

  • Football Highlights – smaller, display-ready builds featuring stylized bases inspired by each player’s country and identity
  • Football Legend – larger, more detailed builds designed for collectors

Each set includes a LEGO minifigure, themed base design, and collectible plaque, along with hidden “easter eggs” referencing key milestones in each athlete’s journey.

Designed as a statement piece, the set emphasizes display value, blending LEGO’s building experience with sports memorabilia-style presentation.

Rolling Launch Across Canada

The LEGO Editions football collection will begin rolling out May 1, with additional releases arriving June 1, available through LEGO stores, LEGO.ca, and select retailers across Canada.
