LEGO Group and FIFA World Cup 2026 Launch Global Collaboration With 1:1 Trophy Build
LEGO FIFA World Cup Trophy Brings Football’s Most Iconic Prize to Fans Ahead of 2026
TORONTO — The LEGO Group has unveiled a major new global collaboration with the FIFA World Cup 2026, kicking off with the debut of the LEGO® Editions FIFA World Cup™ Official Trophy, a first-ever, full 1:1 scale replica of world football’s most iconic prize built entirely from LEGO bricks.
Announced ahead of next summer’s tournament, the collaboration brings together two of the world’s most recognizable global brands, offering football fans and LEGO builders a new way to engage with the sport’s biggest event through creativity, play, and collectability.
The centrepiece of the launch is a highly detailed 2,842-piece LEGO replica of the FIFA World Cup Trophy, standing more than 36 centimetres tall. The display-worthy set is designed for builders aged 12 and up and is scheduled to launch in March 2026, with pre-orders now open through LEGO’s official website.
A Trophy Built Brick by Brick
First introduced in 1974, the FIFA World Cup Trophy has long symbolized achievement, unity, and global competition. The LEGO Editions version recreates that legacy with a number of unique features, including the largest number of gold-coloured elements ever used in a LEGO set. The model combines drum-lacquered bricks and moulded gold pieces to replicate the trophy’s distinctive finish.
The build also includes a hidden interior scene accessed through a pullable slip inside the upper globe section. Inside, builders will find the FIFA World Cup 2026 logo and an exclusive branded minifigure holding a miniature World Cup trophy. A printed plaque on the base lists every tournament-winning nation since 1974, adding a historical and collectible element for football enthusiasts.
Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer at the LEGO Group, said the partnership reflects LEGO’s long-standing commitment to creativity and connection through play.
She noted that the FIFA World Cup Trophy is a universal symbol of achievement and unity, and that recreating it through LEGO bricks allows fans to experience the excitement of the tournament “piece by piece.”
A New Chapter for FIFA Fan Engagement
FIFA also framed the collaboration as a way to bring the tournament into homes well ahead of the opening match.
Romy Gai, FIFA’s Chief Business Officer, said the partnership offers football fans the opportunity to build and keep their own version of the sport’s most prestigious prize, describing it as a natural alignment between two globally loved brands as the 2026 tournament approaches.
Former Brazilian international Roberto Carlos, who lifted the World Cup in 2002, also welcomed the concept, highlighting the emotional connection fans have with the trophy and the memories it represents.
More Experiences Planned for 2026
The trophy build marks the beginning of a broader LEGO–FIFA collaboration set to roll out throughout 2026. The LEGO Group confirmed that additional products and fan experiences are planned in the lead-up to and during the tournament, including activations at FIFA Fan Festivals and special events designed to blend football culture with LEGO play.
The project also introduces LEGO Editions, a new platform focused on collectible display sets that celebrate cultural icons, achievements, and shared passions.
The LEGO® Editions FIFA World Cup™ Official Trophy is available for pre-order now and will be sold through LEGO.ca, LEGO branded stores, and select retailers across Canada upon release.
