LCBO Campaign to Support Campfire Circle’s Programs for Kids with Cancer and Serious Illness

TORONTO, ON – Campfire Circle, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting children with cancer and serious illnesses, is partnering with the LCBO for the 2024 “Share the Joy, Give with Purpose” fundraising campaign. From November 29 to December 31, customers at LCBO locations across Ontario can contribute $2, $5, or $10 at checkout to help bring Campfire Circle’s vital programs to life.

Campfire Circle’s programming offers transformative experiences for children and families coping with serious health challenges. From bedside activities like arts and crafts, interactive games, and ukulele lessons in hospitals, to medically supported overnight camps in Muskoka and Waterford, the organization creates joyful moments of connection and healing. These services are provided entirely free of charge.

“We deeply appreciate the ongoing partnership with LCBO, their dedicated staff, and the generous customers who give to make our programs possible,” said Alex Robertson, CEO of Campfire Circle. “Your support ensures that even more kids with cancer or serious illness and their families can experience moments of joy and connection when they need it most.”

For the third year running, Campfire Circle is proud to be a beneficiary of the LCBO campaign, which also supports Ontario’s four children’s hospital foundations: CHEO Foundation, Children’s Health Foundation, McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation, and SickKids Foundation.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting people and communities across Ontario, LCBO is proud to partner with Campfire Circle this holiday season through our ‘Share the Joy, Give with Purpose’ campaign,” said George Soleas, President and CEO of LCBO. “Now entering our third year as partners, the dollars raised during this year’s campaign will help Campfire Circle expand their programming and support their meaningful work with kids with cancer or serious illness and their families across the province.”

The holiday season can be particularly challenging for families navigating paediatric illnesses. Campfire Circle staff and volunteers work to bring elements of holiday cheer to children’s hospital bedsides and group activities, offering much-needed comfort and connection.

Since its founding in 1983 as Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium, Campfire Circle has provided camp-inspired programs that enhance children’s well-being, build self-confidence, and foster a sense of community among those facing similar challenges.

With the generosity of LCBO customers and the dedication of its staff, Campfire Circle aims to reach even more families this holiday season. To learn more about their programs, visit CampfireCircle.org.
