Knorr Canada Launches New Flavour Base Designed for Gen Z’s Approach to Cooking

The brand introduces a chef-designed Flavour Base aimed at helping Gen Z create richer, easier home-cooked meals this cuffing season.

TORONTO — As temperatures drop and the “cuffing season” mindset takes hold, Knorr Canada is introducing a new pantry staple aimed at helping younger Canadians cook with more confidence and less effort. The company has launched Knorr Flavour Base, a modern take on traditional bouillon created to meet the cooking habits and flavour preferences of Gen Z.

The new line offers a simplified, chef-designed alternative to conventional bouillon cubes and powders, removing the need for crumbling, measuring, or guesswork. Each jar of Flavour Base is crafted with real ingredients and is available in three varieties — chicken, beef, and vegetable. According to Knorr, one jar produces up to 52 cups of instant broth, giving home cooks versatility, value, and a way to build rich flavour quickly.

The launch follows survey findings that younger Canadians are increasingly turning to takeout, with Gen Z reporting that restaurants often feel like the only date-night option. Knorr’s new product aims to shift that trend by offering an easy way to prepare home-cooked meals that bring people together in a low-pressure setting.

Kristen Whelan, Associate Marketing Director for Cooking Aids & Mini Meals Canada, said the goal was to make great flavour accessible to younger cooks by reducing preparation time and lowering barriers to cooking at home.

To promote the product, Knorr is rolling out a social media initiative titled The Kuffing Challenge. The challenge invites couples to cook a meal together while physically attached, demonstrating how simple it can be to create a flavourful dish using Knorr Flavour Bases. Canadians can follow the campaign and participate through @knorrca.

Knorr Flavour Bases are now available nationwide. Recipes and additional product information can be found on Knorr’s official website.
