Knights Dominate Generals in Game 4, Take 3–1 Series Lead
London’s explosive second period propels them to a 6–2 victory in Oshawa
OSHAWA — The London Knights took a commanding 3–1 lead in the OHL Championship Series with a decisive 6–2 win over the Oshawa Generals in Game 4 on Tuesday night at the Tribute Communities Centre. A five-goal outburst in the second period proved to be the difference-maker for the Knights.
After a scoreless first period, London opened the floodgates early in the second. Defenseman Sam Dickinson broke the deadlock, followed by Kasper Halttunen’s 11th goal of the playoffs. Dickinson added another, and Landon Sim contributed to the tally, giving the Knights a substantial lead.
Oshawa’s Andrew Gibson momentarily halted the Knights’ momentum with his seventh playoff goal, assisted by Anthony Figliomeni. However, Halttunen responded with his second of the night, and Sim’s goal extended London’s lead to 5–1 by the end of the period.
In the third, Generals’ captain Calum Ritchie scored early to reduce the deficit. Despite Oshawa’s efforts, Halttunen completed his hat trick on a power play, sealing the Knights’ victory.
Goaltender Jacob Oster faced a barrage of shots, making 17 saves in the first period alone to keep the Generals competitive early on.
With this win, London is now one victory away from clinching the J. Ross Robertson Cup. Game 5 is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, at 7:00 PM ET in London.
