Kia Unveils All-New 2027 Telluride Ahead of Los Angeles Auto Show
Second-generation Kia Telluride evolves with bold design, advanced craftsmanship, and flagship status for the brand
IRVINE, Calif. — Kia America has revealed the first look at the reimagined 2027 Kia Telluride, a complete redesign of its award-winning midsize SUV that now serves as the automaker’s flagship gas-powered model. The next-generation Telluride will make its global debut later this month at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show before arriving in U.S. showrooms in early 2026.
Since its debut six years ago, the Telluride has been praised for its balance of luxury, capability, and family utility. The new generation builds upon that legacy with a design that is bigger, bolder, and still proudly boxy, embracing Kia’s global Opposites United design philosophy.
Evolution, Not Reinvention
Kia’s design team set out to elevate — not reinvent — the Telluride’s defining character. The 2027 model grows 2.3 inches longer, with a wheelbase nearly three inches longer and an additional inch in height, enhancing both presence and cabin space.
“The goal was to preserve the essence that made the original Telluride such a standout while elevating its sophistication,” said Tom Kearns, Vice President and Senior Chief Designer at Kia Design Center America. “It’s about capturing strength and luxury, tradition and modernness, into a single expression.”
A Modern Take on Strength and Elegance
The 2027 Telluride features a bold, sculpted exterior inspired by the rugged terrain of its Colorado namesake. Vertical LED lighting now frames a high-gloss grille for a commanding presence, while aerodynamic contours lend refinement to the SUV’s muscular proportions.
At the rear, geometric LED tail lamps and broad fenders create a planted stance. The X-Pro trim, meanwhile, introduces blacked-out accents, raised roof rails, all-terrain tires, and 9.1 inches of ground clearance, making it the most off-road-ready Telluride yet.
Lighting the Way Forward
Kia’s Star Map lighting signature defines both the front and rear lamps, creating a distinct visual identity day or night. Chief Designer Kurt Kahl noted that the lighting design “reinforces Telluride’s strong light signature with modern precision,” while features like Ground Lighting—which projects soft light from the mirrors, doors, and bumper—add functional luxury and visibility in low-light environments.
A Premium Interior Sanctuary
Inside, the Telluride evolves into what Kia calls a “tech sanctuary.” A wide, horizontal dashboard emphasizes space and modernity, while wood-like textures, metal accents, and ambient lighting create a serene atmosphere. New seating materials and bold colorways — including Deep Navy with Tuscan Umber and Blackberry with Sand Beige — give the cabin a refined, luxurious feel.
Practicality meets craftsmanship through features like folding luggage tables with integrated ruler markings, mesh headrests, and configurable cargo partitions. The slightly taller dimensions also improve headroom and accessibility for the second and third rows.
A Statement of Intent
Under Kia’s Opposites United philosophy, the new Telluride merges sophistication with durability — positioning itself as both a family SUV and a luxury flagship. Available in multiple trims including the adventure-focused X-Pro, the Telluride embodies Kia’s ambition to balance form, function, and emotion in design.
The 2027 Telluride will be officially unveiled at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, with production beginning soon after. The model is expected in dealerships across North America by early 2026.
