Jimmy John’s Opens First Location in Vaughan, Expanding Its Canadian Footprint
Popular U.S. sandwich chain continues nationwide growth with fifth Canadian store
Vaughan, Ontario — Jimmy John’s, the iconic American sandwich brand known for its “freaky fast” service and freshly made subs, has officially opened its first location in York Region. The new Vaughan restaurant, located at 9340 Bathurst Street just north of Rutherford Road, brings the chain’s signature menu and made-fresh-daily ingredients to one of the GTA’s fastest-growing communities.
Founded over four decades ago, Jimmy John’s has become a household name in the U.S. for its commitment to quality, freshness, and speed. The company’s signature sandwiches — including favourites like the Beach Club, Club Lulu, Italian Night Club, J.J.B.L.T., the Pepe, and Turkey Tom — are crafted with premium meats, freshly sliced vegetables, and bread baked in-store throughout the day.
“Vaughan deserves great sandwiches, and that’s what we’ve set out to do in every city and town where we operate,” said Peter Mammas, President and CEO of Foodtastic, the Canadian restaurant group leading Jimmy John’s expansion across the country. “Opening our doors in Vaughan means giving this growing city and its residents the kind of sandwich experience they expect — freaky fast, fresh, and a cut above the rest.”
As with other Jimmy John’s locations in Canada, guests can customize their orders with options like toasted sandwiches or the low-carb “Unwich” lettuce wrap. Popular sides include Jimmy Chips, kettle-cooked potato chips seasoned for a perfect crunch.
The Vaughan store marks Jimmy John’s fifth location in Canada, with additional openings planned for Ottawa, Windsor, and other cities throughout 2025 and 2026.
