Jimmy John’s Opens New Toronto Location on King Street West December 17
Jimmy John’s Toronto Expands with a New King Street West Restaurant
Jimmy John’s, the fast-growing American sandwich chain known for its freshly sliced meats and “freaky fast” service, is expanding again in Canada with the opening of a new location at 299 King Street West in Toronto. The restaurant officially opens December 17, marking the brand’s seventh Ontario location and eleventh in Canada.
The new downtown site places Jimmy John’s directly in one of Toronto’s busiest neighbourhoods — a high-density stretch of the Entertainment District surrounded by offices, residential towers, and year-round pedestrian traffic.
To celebrate the launch, Jimmy John’s is offering two promotions on opening day:
-
First 100 guests: Receive a complimentary regular sandwich and 16-oz drink.
-
After the first 100: All guests can purchase a regular classic sandwich for $5 until closing on December 17.
These opening incentives align with Jimmy John’s customer-focused approach as it establishes a stronger presence in the GTA.
Why King Street West?
“Opening on King Street West allows us to serve one of the most active neighbourhoods in the country,” said Kim Slongo, Director of Operations at Foodtastic, which leads Jimmy John’s expansion in Canada. “The area attracts workers, residents, students, and visitors throughout the day, which makes it a strong fit for a menu that focuses on fresh preparation, steady consistency, and quick service.”
Foodtastic President and CEO Peter Mammas emphasized the brand’s alignment with the pace of downtown Toronto. “Jimmy John’s delivers the goods in a fast and reliable way, which is sure to please our neighbours in this fast-paced and vibrant part of town. Reliability and freshness are two of the reasons why Jimmy John’s has become a favourite in cities across North America.”
Growth momentum in the GTA
The new King Street West restaurant joins existing locations in Etobicoke and the broader GTA, forming a growing network stretching from Toronto to Vaughan. Several additional openings are planned for early 2026 as the brand continues scaling its Canadian footprint.
The latest location will offer the chain’s full lineup of made-to-order sandwiches, featuring meats, cheeses, and vegetables sliced fresh in-house.
