Jimmy John’s Launches the Picklewich Across Canada Following Viral Toronto Debut
Breadless, brined, and bold — the Picklewich brings a fresh twist to classic sandwiches nationwide.
TORONTO — Canadians are in for a briny surprise. After taking Toronto by storm at Picklefest earlier this fall, Jimmy John’s has officially launched its viral Picklewich nationwide. The unique, breadless sandwich replaces traditional buns with giant dill pickles and is now available at all participating Jimmy John’s locations across Canada.
The Picklewich, available in two varieties — The Vito® Picklewich and The Turkey Picklewich — has become an online sensation, delighting fans of bold flavours and low-carb options alike.
“The Picklewich took Toronto by storm at Picklefest, and we knew we had to bring it back for Canadians everywhere,” said Kim Slongo, Director of Operations at Foodtastic, the company behind Jimmy John’s expansion in Canada. “It’s a bold twist on a fan favourite — fresh, flavourful, and perfectly brined. Canadians are going to love it.”
The Vito Picklewich features salami, capocollo, provolone, onion, tomato, lettuce, and oregano-basil with oil and vinegar — all nestled between two halves of a crisp dill pickle. The Turkey Picklewich offers a lighter option, stacked with turkey, provolone, lettuce, and tomato for a refreshing crunch in every bite.
What began as a quirky creation in 2024 has quickly become a fan favourite among pickle lovers.
