Jimmy John’s Launches in Canada with First Location in Etobicoke

Toronto – Jimmy John’s, the popular American sandwich chain, has officially opened its first Canadian location in Etobicoke, marking the brand’s entry into Canada. The new restaurant, located at 197 North Queen St. near Sherway Gardens, welcomed enthusiastic crowds during its grand opening on November 19.

The opening event featured a special promotion, with the first 200 in-store guests receiving a complimentary six-inch Classic sandwich and a 16oz beverage. The giveaway attracted a steady stream of customers eager to experience Jimmy John’s signature combination of fresh, high-quality ingredients and fast service.

“We recognize exceptional brands and products when we see—and taste—them,” says Peter Mammas, President and CEO of Foodtastic. “The bold flavours and diverse menu at Jimmy John’s are truly unmatched, and we’re confident they’ll keep our guests coming back for more—and bringing their friends.”

Jimmy John’s Canadian menu offers 15 sandwiches, including customer favourites like the Turkey Tom, a classic turkey and cheese sandwich that leads sales in the U.S., and the indulgent Meatball Parmesan, featuring tender meatballs, marinara, and melted cheeses on toasted garlic butter bread. For health-conscious diners, the “Unwich,” a lettuce wrap alternative, provides a carb-friendly option. Guests can also enjoy the chain’s signature Jimmy Chips, made from fresh potatoes.

Orders can be placed in-store, through JimmyJohns.ca, or via the Jimmy John’s app, which includes a rewards program. Delivery is also available via Uber Eats and Skip.

“Canada is one of the largest sandwich markets in the world, and we couldn’t ask for a better franchisee than Foodtastic,” says Michael Haley, president and managing director, international for Inspire Brands. “Canadian consumers are hungry for Jimmy John’s straightforward approach to making delicious sandwiches on their terms — a blend of quality ingredients and convenience that is second to none.”

The Etobicoke location is the first step in Jimmy John’s planned Canadian expansion. The brand’s partnership with Foodtastic reflects a commitment to growing its presence across the country.

This opening also marks a significant milestone in Jimmy John’s international growth, which began earlier this year with new locations in El Salvador and South Korea. The brand plans to enter additional international markets in 2025.

With its debut, Jimmy John’s aims to carve out a unique spot in Canada’s competitive sandwich market, delivering what it calls “The Sandwich of Sandwiches” to hungry customers in the GTA and beyond.
