Roc Nation Launches Year-Long JAŸ-Z30 Celebration Honouring 30 Years of Reasonable Doubt

The JAŸ-Z30 Celebration transforms New York City into a living archive of one of hip-hop’s most influential careers.

NEW YORK — Roc Nation has launched JAŸ-Z30, a year-long celebration commemorating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, the landmark 1996 debut album that introduced the world to Shawn “JAŸ-Z” Carter and helped shape modern hip-hop culture.

The initiative officially began on June 25 with a series of citywide activations across New York City, leading into a slate of anniversary concerts scheduled for Yankee Stadium from July 10 to 12, followed by performances in Paris and Los Angeles later this year.

Organized around the original release dates of albums throughout JAŸ-Z’s catalog, the celebration aims to honour three decades of music, entrepreneurship, storytelling, and cultural influence.

A Citywide Tribute to a Hip-Hop Icon

The anniversary program transforms parts of New York City into an interactive celebration of JAŸ-Z’s career and legacy.

Fans can explore a newly launched digital archive through Jayz30.com, which serves as a central hub featuring historical content, rare footage, updates, and memorabilia tied to the artist’s career.

A companion JAŸ-Z30 map guides visitors through key locations connected to the rapper’s rise from Brooklyn’s Marcy Houses to becoming one of the most influential figures in music and business.

The celebration also includes custom subway maps, commemorative library cards, and public installations designed to highlight moments from JAŸ-Z’s career and his connection to New York City.

Historic Bowery Station Transformed Into a Living Archive

One of the centerpiece attractions is an immersive takeover of the decommissioned Bowery Station in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

The historic underground space has been transformed into a multimedia experience recreating the world surrounding Reasonable Doubt in 1996.

Visitors can explore restored train cars featuring listening experiences, archival footage, music videos, memorabilia, and original promotional materials from JAŸ-Z’s debut era.

The installation offers fans an opportunity to revisit the cultural landscape that shaped one of hip-hop’s most influential albums.

Brooklyn Activation Celebrates the Roots of the Story

In partnership with Apple Music, a second major activation has opened in Brooklyn at Smack Mellon in DUMBO.

The location carries special significance as the building appeared in the iconic 1996 music video for “Dead Presidents,” one of the defining singles from Reasonable Doubt.

The Brooklyn experience includes exclusive merchandise, collectible music releases, large-scale art installations inspired by historic photographs of JAŸ-Z, and live DJ programming celebrating his catalog.

The space also serves as a gathering point for fans reflecting on the cultural impact of the artist’s music over the past three decades.

Music, Culture, and Legacy

Beyond the exhibits, JAŸ-Z30 highlights the broader influence of an artist whose work has extended beyond music into business, sports, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship.

Since the release of Reasonable Doubt in 1996, JAŸ-Z has built one of the most successful careers in modern entertainment, helping redefine what success can look like for artists in hip-hop and beyond.

The year-long initiative positions his catalog as a living archive, documenting not only a musical career but also the cultural and business impact that followed.

Looking Ahead

The New York activations serve as the opening chapter in a larger international celebration that will continue throughout 2026.

Upcoming anniversary concerts at Yankee Stadium, Paris’s Stade de France, and Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium are expected to draw fans from around the world as the JAŸ-Z30 program continues.

For longtime listeners and newer generations discovering the music, the anniversary events offer an opportunity to revisit an album that remains one of hip-hop’s most influential releases three decades after its debut.
