Noodlebox Brings Back Japanese Shoyu Ramen and Adds New Edamame and Crunchy Toppings

Japanese Shoyu Ramen Returns as Noodlebox Expands Its Asian Fusion Menu

TORONTO — Noodlebox is bringing back one of its most requested limited-time offerings, reintroducing its Japanese Shoyu Ramen at participating locations across Canada. The Asian fusion noodle chain is also expanding its menu with a new lightly fried edamame side dish and two new customizable box add-ons: chili crunch and crispy fried onions.

A Classic Japanese Ramen Returns

The return of Shoyu Ramen marks the second Japanese-inspired dish on Noodlebox’s menu, reflecting growing customer demand for comforting, traditional flavours with a modern twist. Shoyu ramen is a staple of Japanese cuisine, known for its rich, savoury soy sauce-based broth.

This year’s limited-time version builds on its previous release with an added layer of flavour. Instead of the fried egg offered last year, the 2026 Shoyu Ramen features a soy-marinated egg pack for a deeper umami profile.

The dish is wok-fired and served with ramen noodles, spices, peppers, broccoli, cabbage, and an Asian vegetable mix, then finished with green onions and sesame seeds.

“Shoyu ramen is comforting, savoury, and tangy – a fan-favourite for ramen lovers,” said Trista Jorgenson, Marketing Director of Noodlebox. “We’re thrilled to bring another traditional Japanese dish to our menu of diverse Asian flavours.”

New Edamame Side and Customizable Add-Ons

Alongside the ramen’s return, Noodlebox is introducing a lightly fried, in-shell edamame side dish, offering guests a simple, shareable option to complement their meal.

The brand is also rolling out two new box add-ons — chili crunch and crispy fried onions — allowing customers to further customize their orders with extra heat and texture.

Customization Remains a Core Focus

According to Foodtastic, the parent company of Noodlebox, menu flexibility continues to be a key part of the brand’s appeal.

“Canadians crave fresh food that’s made just for them,” said Peter Mammas, President and CEO of Foodtastic. “At Noodlebox, we’re proud to offer orders that are completely customizable while bringing back familiar favourites like shoyu ramen.”

Limited-Time Availability

The Japanese Shoyu Ramen, lightly fried edamame, and new add-ons — chili crunch and crispy fried onions — are available for a limited time at participating Noodlebox locations across Canada.
