J.P. Wiser’s and Corby Spirit and Wine Celebrate 10 Years of Free TTC Rides on New Year’s Eve
TORONTO – As New Year’s Eve approaches, Corby Spirit and Wine is marking a decade of offering complimentary transit rides in Toronto with an expanded initiative and a refreshed campaign in partnership with J.P. Wiser’s, one of Canada’s leading whisky brands.
The “Wiser Way Home” campaign encourages revellers to make safe and responsible transportation choices by taking advantage of free TTC rides on December 31. This year, the campaign extends its reach to Calgary, offering free rides in collaboration with Calgary Transit.
“For over a decade, the goal has been simple: empower Canadians to prioritize safety,” said Kevin de Graaf, Senior Brand Manager at Corby. “Having J.P. Wiser’s sponsor Wiser Way Home is a seamless extension of our values to give back in a way that keeps our community connected.”
Expanded Campaign and Free Transit
In Toronto, the TTC’s complimentary service begins at 7 p.m. on December 31 and runs until 8 a.m. on January 1. Subway service will be extended, with last trains departing after 2 a.m. on all lines. The TTC’s Blue Night Network will take over after 3 a.m. to ensure continuous service for riders.
In Calgary, free CTrain and bus services will operate with extended hours, including enhanced frequency on major routes. Calgary Transit Director Sharon Fleming emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting community safety during the celebrations.
“Providing safe and reliable transportation is at the heart of what we do at Calgary Transit. Partnering with J.P. Wiser’s to bring the Wiser Way Home campaign to Calgary is a fantastic opportunity to enhance our service and support our community,” Fleming said.
A Legacy of Safety
Since its inception, the campaign has provided over 2.6 million free rides in Toronto, underscoring its success in promoting safe transit options for New Year’s Eve. Greg Percy, CEO of the TTC, noted the program’s enduring importance.
“Our commitment to safety remains unwavering, and we thank riders for trusting us for their first ride of 2025,” Percy said.

The Wiser Way Home campaign will be visible throughout December, featuring advertising on transit vehicles, in stations, and across digital and social media platforms. Riders in Calgary will also have the chance to win one of 10 one-month transit passes through social contests.
