Honey Badgers and City of Brampton Announce Return of Camp Day Game on July 9

Brampton, ON — The Brampton Honey Badgers will once again bring the energy of professional basketball to the city’s youth this summer, announcing their second annual Camp Day Game in collaboration with the City of Brampton. Set for July 9 at 12:30 p.m. at the CAA Centre, the Honey Badgers will face off against the Ottawa BlackJacks in a special daytime matchup designed to engage local summer campers.

Mayor Patrick Brown welcomed the return of the initiative, highlighting its impact on Brampton youth.

“This incredible initiative brings the excitement of professional basketball to our local campers and plays a key role in connecting children and youth to sport,” Brown said in a statement. “By creating opportunities like this, we inspire the next generation to lead healthy, active lifestyles.”

The Camp Day Game is part of the “Brampton Honey Badgers Summer Camp Takeover Week,” running from July 7 to 11. During the week, the team and their mascot will visit summer camps across the city to host basketball-themed activities and create lasting memories for campers.

“Our organization is thrilled for this opportunity to continue to grow our relationship with the City of Brampton,” said Michael Lorkovich, the Honey Badgers’ senior director of sales and marketing. “We cannot wait to host our local camp attendees at the CAA Centre for a second year in a row and put on a show for them!”

The inaugural Camp Day Game in 2024 drew over 3,300 attendees and featured standout performances, including a 19-point effort by forward Prince Oduro. This year, the team hopes to build on that momentum with an even larger and more engaging event.

The City of Brampton’s week-long summer camps serve a broad age range — from four years old to young adults over 21 — offering both indoor and outdoor activities. The Honey Badgers’ involvement adds a professional sports experience to the mix, aiming to inspire youth across the city.

With the 2025 CEBL season approaching, fans and families can look forward to a summer of fast-paced action and community-focused programming. Tickets for the season, including packages for groups and families, are now available at honeybadgers.ca/tickets.
