Highway 407 ETR Marks 25 Years with Grand Contest and Community Contributions

TORONTO – In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Highway 407 ETR is launching an impressive contest titled Celebrate 25! Upgrade your Drive. The world’s first all-electronic open-access toll highway is giving away an array of prizes, culminating in a grand prize of a 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid and one year of free travel on Highway 407 ETR, worth nearly $60,000.

Javier Tamargo, President & CEO of 407 ETR, expressed gratitude to the growing number of Ontarians who rely on Highway 407 ETR for their daily commutes, family trips, and special occasions. “We want to thank the growing number of Ontarians who make Highway 407 ETR part of their day,” Tamargo said. “We’re celebrating our journey and our customers who have been there with us along the way.”

Since its inception in 1999, Highway 407 ETR has become a crucial transportation link in the Greater Toronto Area, with traffic increasing by over 90% in the past 25 years. The highway is majority Canadian-owned and supports over 500 local jobs, including staff at its award-winning contact centre based in Woodbridge, which boasts a customer satisfaction rate exceeding 90%.

The Celebrate 25! Upgrade your Drive contest runs from August 1 to September 30, 2024. Participants can enter to win one of 25 prizes, which include:

• Grand Prize: A 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L and one year of free travel on Highway 407 ETR, valued at approximately $59,359.
• Fan Favourite Prize Packs: Includes tickets to favorite events and a $1,000 Ticketmaster gift card, plus one year of free travel, valued at around $5,757.
• Sightseers Prize Pack: A Toronto CityPASS® for two adults and two children, plus one year of free travel, valued at approximately $5,157.
• Gift Cards: Twenty gift cards for travel on Highway 407 ETR, including ten $1,000 cards and ten $100 cards.

To enter, participants need to engage with Highway 407 ETR through various actions, such as driving on the highway or signing up for pre-authorized debit. Each action earns an entry into the contest, increasing the chances of winning.
