Town of Halton Hills Receives $50,000 Donation from Georgetown Slo-Pitch League to Upgrade Baseball Facilities
Georgetown Slo-Pitch League donates $50,000 to support Halton Hills baseball facility upgrades and community sports infrastructure.
The contribution was formally recognized during a cheque presentation attended by representatives from the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League and the Town of Halton Hills. The funding will be directed toward improvements to Town-owned baseball facilities, benefiting a wide range of user groups including baseball, fast-pitch and slo-pitch programs for players of all ages.
Investment in Local Baseball Infrastructure
The Georgetown Slo-Pitch League is comprised of approximately 55 adult teams and offers a variety of recreational and competitive programming, including a co-ed league, a men’s 35+ league and a competitive men’s league. Established in 1990, the non-profit organization has a long-standing tradition of reinvesting in local sports infrastructure.
“Georgetown Slo-Pitch League is proud to support improvements to local baseball facilities that benefit players of all ages and levels,” said Jamie Chouinard, President of the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League. “Giving back to the community and investing in quality sport infrastructure has been part of our commitment to Halton Hills for more than 30 years.”

Strengthening Community Sport
Mayor Ann Lawlor acknowledged the significance of the donation and the league’s continued partnership with the Town.
“This generous donation reflects the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League’s continued commitment to community sport and partnership,” said Mayor Lawlor. “Their long-standing support boosts the quality and accessibility of baseball facilities in Halton Hills.”
The Town of Halton Hills, home to approximately 60,000 residents across Georgetown, Acton and surrounding hamlets, continues to prioritize investments that enhance recreation and community well-being. Partnerships with local organizations like the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League play an important role in maintaining and improving public sports infrastructure.
Town officials extended their appreciation to the league for its ongoing support and its more than three decades of contributions to baseball in Halton Hills.
