GoodLife Fitness Joins PWHL as Official Training Partner for Ontario Teams
TORONTO — The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has announced a multi-year partnership with GoodLife Fitness, making the fitness club chain the official training partner of the Ottawa Charge and the official fitness club of the PWHL’s two Ontario-based teams, including the Toronto Sceptres. This agreement, which begins with the 2024-25 season, focuses on enhancing fan engagement while supporting the performance of players both on and off the ice.
A highlight of the partnership is the launch of a dedicated training facility for the Ottawa Charge at GoodLife’s Lansdowne Park location in Ottawa. The team began using the facility in November, benefitting from state-of-the-art equipment for strength and mobility training, as well as advanced muscle recovery technology.
GoodLife Fitness aims to use its vast network and expertise to support the growth of the PWHL, marking an important step forward for women’s professional hockey in Canada. “GoodLife has been dedicated to the excellence of athletes in Canada since our inception,” said Tammy Brazier, senior vice president of marketing, partnerships, and external relations at GoodLife Fitness. “We’re excited to collaborate with the teams and help the league reach new audiences, while providing the resources necessary for the teams to excel on the ice.”
Chelsea Purcell, senior director of corporate partnerships for the PWHL, emphasized the alignment between GoodLife’s passion for fitness and the league’s goals. “GoodLife is Canada’s gym, and this partnership helps strengthen the future of professional women’s hockey,” Purcell said.
The collaboration will include fan engagement initiatives at home games in Ontario, with contests and prizes sponsored by GoodLife. Fans can also expect exclusive player training content shared on social media, giving them a closer look at the athletes’ preparation and dedication. The partnership will also promote GoodLife’s women-focused clubs and training spaces, connecting with audiences through digital campaigns and in-arena advertising.
The next Ontario home games will showcase this partnership. On Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, the Toronto Sceptres will host the Montréal Victoire at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, while on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, the Ottawa Charge will face the Boston Fleet at TD Place. Tickets for these games are available at thepwhl.com, with broadcasts airing across Canada on TSN and CBC.
As the PWHL continues to grow, partnerships like this one highlight the league’s commitment to elevating women’s hockey, both on the ice and in the community.
