Golfing for a Cause: Smilezone’s 10th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament a Resounding Success
Brampton, ON – The Smilezone Foundation is celebrating the exceptional success of its 10th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament, held at Lionhead Golf Club in Brampton on July 22, 2024. The event, supported by lead sponsor The Slaight Foundation, raised an impressive $300,000 after expenses, pushing the total funds raised by the foundation to over $2 million in the past decade. These funds are crucial for Smilezone Foundation’s mission to transform spaces in hospitals and healthcare facilities into joyful and comforting environments for children and their families.
This milestone event attracted 340 enthusiastic golfers, including 70 celebrated athletes from the NHL, CFL, Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Association, and PWHL. The lineup featured notable figures such as Ryan O’Reilly of the Nashville Predators and this year’s Smilezone Ambassador, Canadian Hockey Legend Paul Henderson, Sean Monahan of the Winnipeg Jets, Anthony Cirelli of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Corey Perry of the Edmonton Oilers, and PWHL Toronto stars Emma Maltais and Victoria Bach. These celebrities generously donated their time and star power to support the cause.
