TORONTO — Global Television has unveiled its highly anticipated fall 2024 lineup, offering viewers a mix of fresh new series and beloved returning favorites. The announcement highlights the network’s commitment to delivering top-tier programming that resonates with audiences across Canada.
Kicking off the season on September 18 is the return of Survivor, Canada’s #1 program, now entering its 47th season. The iconic reality show will begin with a special two-hour premiere, followed by weekly 90-minute episodes that promise more thrilling challenges and intense competition.
Global’s fall slate introduces several new scripted series, each bringing its own unique appeal. Notably, Oscar® winner Kathy Bates stars in a reimagined version of Matlock, set to debut with a sneak preview on September 22 before moving to its regular time slot in October. Another highly anticipated addition is NCIS: Origins, which explores the early days of the NCIS franchise with Austin Stowell portraying a young Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. The series premieres on October 14 with a special two-hour episode.
Canadian content takes center stage with Murder in a Small Town, a mystery drama set in the picturesque landscapes of British Columbia. The series, starring Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk, premieres on September 24 and is expected to captivate audiences with its intriguing plot and stellar performances.
Comedy fans can look forward to Poppa’s House, featuring the comedic duo of Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., bringing their signature humor to Global on October 21. This father-son comedy is poised to become a fan favorite, adding to the network’s robust lineup of comedic offerings.
“Whether it’s Kathy Bates stealing scenes in the reimagined Matlock, a nostalgic look back at iconic TV character Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS: Origins, or the idyllic British Columbia setting of Murder in a Small Town, Global’s schedule offers a fresh lineup of standout content this fall,” said Jennifer Abrams, Senior Vice President Programming & Multiplatform, Corus Entertainment. “After a successful spring, this fall’s lineup promises another exceptional season, filled with the best new shows, beloved returning favorites, exclusive specials, and thrilling reality competitions.”
