Global Announces Star-Studded Fall 2025 Lineup with New Premieres and Returning Favourites
TORONTO – Global is rolling out a powerhouse fall 2025 schedule packed with new series, returning fan favourites, and top-rated programs across all genres. The season kicks off Sunday, September 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with the MTV Video Music Awards, airing on Global for the first time.
From there, the network launches an official “Premiere Week” in October featuring fresh debuts like the workplace comedy DMV (Oct. 13), the country music competition The Road with Blake Shelton and Keith Urban (Oct. 19), and Sheriff Country (Oct. 17), an expansion of the Fire Country universe starring Morena Baccarin.
Reality, Comedy, and Drama Anchors
Ahead of Survivor’s milestone 50th season in spring, Season 49 premieres Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with a two-hour episode before moving to weekly 90-minute instalments. Saturday Night Live returns Oct. 4, fresh off its own 50th season, and top 5 hit 9-1-1 is back Oct. 9 for its ninth season.
Canadian-made dramas Murder in a Small Town and Doc return Sept. 23 with new star power, while Abbott Elementary launches its fifth season Oct. 1. Kathy Bates reprises her role in Matlock (Oct. 12) alongside Carrie Preston in Elsbeth.
Franchise Nights and Returning Hits
October also brings franchise-focused evenings, including the NCIS triple block (Oct. 14) with NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney. Paranormal comedy Ghosts returns Oct. 16, Fire Country reignites Oct. 17, and Crime Beat resumes the same night with more true crime stories.
Global will also air the new season of 60 Minutes starting Sept. 28, offering viewers a mix of breaking news and in-depth investigations.
