Gatorade Canada Names Tajon Buchanan as 2026 Campaign Athlete, Launches Limited-Edition Glacier Punch
Partnership reinforces brand’s role in fuelling Canadian soccer ahead of a major summer on home soil
MISSISSAUGA — Gatorade Canada has announced Canadian Men’s National Team winger Tajon Buchanan as a featured athlete in its 2026 campaign, alongside the launch of a new limited-edition flavour, Glacier Punch.
The announcement builds on Gatorade’s ongoing role as the Official Isotonic and Sports Nutrition Partner of Canada Soccer, a partnership in place since 2022.
Strengthening a Long-Term Partnership
Gatorade says the collaboration reflects its continued investment in Canadian soccer, particularly as the national team prepares to compete on home soil during a landmark summer for the sport.
“Gatorade has been part of the CANMNT’s journey for over three years, and everything we’ve built together has been pointing to this moment,” said Reid Black, Senior Director of Marketing, Gatorade Canada.
The partnership integrates Gatorade’s hydration products into match-day performance protocols, supporting players before, during, and after games.
Science-Driven Performance Support
Through the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI), the brand emphasizes research-backed hydration strategies.
According to Gatorade, soccer players can lose between one and two litres of fluid during a 90-minute match, making hydration and electrolyte replacement critical for maintaining performance.
The company’s formula is designed to replace fluids, electrolytes, and carbohydrates lost through sweat, a key component in high-performance sport environments.
Tajon Buchanan Joins 2026 Campaign
Buchanan, a key figure in Canada’s national team setup, will front the brand’s campaign as it expands its “Is It In You” platform into soccer.
“Hydration is a big part of that preparation for me,” Buchanan said in a statement. “When your body is running on empty, it shows. Gatorade helps me make sure I’m giving everything I have from the first minute to the last.”
The campaign aligns with growing national attention on Canadian soccer as the sport continues to gain momentum domestically.
Glacier Punch Launches Nationwide
As part of the announcement, Gatorade introduced Glacier Punch, a limited-edition flavour now available at major retailers across Canada.
The product is positioned as a performance-focused beverage designed to support athletes through hydration and energy replenishment.
Supporting Grassroots Soccer
Beyond elite competition, Gatorade is also expanding its reach at the grassroots level.
In 2026, the company has distributed 50,000 bottles, powders, and equipment to youth soccer organizations across the country, supporting approximately 2,500 teams nationwide.
Custom-branded Gatorade and Canada Soccer gear, including Gx bottles and towels, will also be used by the national team and shared with youth players through the campaign.
A Defining Moment for Canadian Soccer
As Canada prepares to host global soccer events and elevate its presence on the international stage, partnerships like this highlight the growing ecosystem supporting the sport.
For Gatorade, the focus remains consistent — supporting athletes at every level, from the national team bench to community fields across the country.
