Freshii Launches Nationwide Lineup of Premium Poke Bowls, a First Among Canadian Chains
New menu features sushi-grade fish, West Coast flavours, and chef-designed recipes
TORONTO – Freshii has officially entered the poke bowl game, becoming the largest national chain in Canada to offer a full lineup of premium poke bowls. Starting this month, customers at participating locations can now enjoy chef-crafted options made with sushi-grade salmon, ahi tuna, prawns, or tofu.
The launch signals a bold expansion into one of the world’s most sought-after food trends. Poke – a Hawaiian dish known for its fresh, customizable ingredients – now finds a home on Freshii’s national menu in two signature flavour styles: teriyaki and ponzu.
“We’ve absolutely fallen in love with our new poke bowls,” said Chris Cann, Brand Leader at Freshii. “We’ve been working on this product launch for well over a year and the results are exactly what Freshii customers love — quality meals with unique flavours that satisfy your hunger and need for convenience and value.”
Each bowl is built on a base of greens and rice and topped with premium ingredients including avocado, mango, pickled onions, crispy wontons, sesame seeds, and furikake. Customizable sauces such as Sriracha Mayo and Wasabi Aioli complete the offering, delivering a vibrant and balanced meal.
The recipes were designed by Freshii’s Director of Culinary, Chef Jason Baker, a Vancouver native whose West Coast roots helped shape the menu’s focus on freshness and bold, global flavours.
“As someone who grew up on the West Coast, I’ve always been inspired by the way food can be both nourishing and bold in flavour,” said Chef Jason. “With our new poke bowls, we wanted to bring that sense of balance and freshness to every bite using quality ingredients and global influences to create something that feels vibrant, satisfying, and true to Freshii’s mission.”
