The city will host six matches, including the first-ever men’s FIFA World Cup match played on Canadian soil on June 12.

According to a 2024 economic impact assessment by Deloitte Canada, the tournament could generate up to $940 million in economic output across the Greater Toronto Area and support more than 6,600 jobs.

City Positioning Festival as Inclusive Celebration

Mayor Olivia Chow emphasized the importance of keeping the festival accessible to all residents.

“FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto will bring residents and visitors together to celebrate the game and our city. Keeping this free was important, so everyone has the opportunity to take part and feel part of this historic moment,” Chow said.

Provincial and federal officials echoed the sentiment, highlighting the role of the event in showcasing Canadian culture and strengthening community connections.

Looking Ahead

With planning underway and tickets set to be released in early May, the FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto is expected to become one of the city’s largest public events during the World Cup.
