Explore, Discover, and Play: Doors Open Toronto Returns May 24–25 with 150+ Sites Across the City

TORONTO – Toronto’s architectural playground is back. The City of Toronto has officially unveiled the full lineup for Doors Open Toronto 2025, set to take place on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25. This year’s event, themed “Play”, will feature more than 150 buildings, tours, and interactive programs, all free to the public.

Now in its 25th year, Doors Open Toronto invites residents and visitors alike to explore the city in new and imaginative ways. From behind-the-scenes access at historic landmarks to immersive experiences in creative studios and gaming spaces, the 2025 edition highlights the ways we connect through sports, music, games, performance, and storytelling.

Among this year’s newly participating venues are Ubisoft Toronto, Spin Master Headquarters, the YZD Experience Centre, and St. Lawrence Market North. Beloved institutions like Old City Hall, the Don Jail, and the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre will also open their doors—some for the first time since 2019.

City Hall as Festival Hub
Toronto City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square will serve as the event’s central hub, offering family-friendly programming, including tours of the Council Chamber, Mayor’s Office, and Hall of Memory. The Spirit Garden, a collaboration with Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre, will host cultural programming tied to this year’s theme.

Talks, Panels, and Indigenous Storytelling
The popular Doors Open Talks Series returns with a focus on play in architecture, culture, and technology. Highlights include:

  • “Sports & the Making of Toronto” keynote and public skate at the Mattamy Centre

  • “Ready Player One”, a look inside Toronto’s video game industry

  • Indigenous storytelling workshops with John Keeshig Mayawaasige

  • Spaces for Play discussion hosted by the Toronto Society of Architects

All talks are free, but advance registration is required.

Tips for Visitors
