Doors Open Toronto 2026 Unveils 160+ Sites Celebrating ‘The World in a City’
Doors Open Toronto 2026 showcases more than 160 buildings, tours and cultural experiences across the city
TORONTO — The City of Toronto has released the full program for Doors Open Toronto 2026, inviting residents and visitors to explore more than 160 buildings, guided tours and special events across the city on May 23 and 24.
This year’s theme, “The World in a City,” highlights Toronto’s diversity through architecture, culture and community spaces, offering rare behind-the-scenes access to sites that are often closed to the public.
Exploring Toronto’s Past, Present and Future
The annual event continues to showcase Toronto’s historical roots while emphasizing the city’s ongoing evolution. Organizers say the 2026 edition reflects how different cultures and communities have shaped the city’s identity.
Newly featured locations include:
- 25 Ookwemin St.
- Old Fire Hall 30 at Biidaasige Park
- Netflix Canada
- The Corleck
- Toronto Star
- TVO Studios
- Anishnawbe Health Toronto
- HOK Toronto Design Studio
- Humber Valley Church
- University of Toronto Bookstore
Returning highlights include iconic attractions such as the Aga Khan Museum, along with heritage buildings, cultural institutions and unique workplaces rarely open to the public.
City Hall Hub Returns with Family-Friendly Programming
Toronto City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square will once again serve as the central hub for the event.
Visitors can explore:
- The Council Chamber
- The Mayor’s Office
- The 27th Floor Observation Deck
The hub will also feature live performances and family-friendly programming throughout the weekend.

Guided Tours and Exclusive Experiences
Doors Open Toronto 2026 will offer 14 guided neighbourhood tours, with 10 new experiences introduced this year.
New tours include:
- Inside the CN Tower: Behind-the-Scenes Tour (marking the tower’s 50th anniversary)
- Building Identity: Toronto’s Story in Four Spaces
- From the Ward to Kensington Market
Advance registration is required for all guided tours.
Doors Open Talks Series Returns
The Doors Open Talks Series will feature free panel discussions and lectures examining how Toronto’s architecture, public spaces and art contribute to its identity as a global city.
All talks require advance registration.
Plan Ahead for a Busy Weekend
Organizers are encouraging attendees to plan their visits in advance using the event’s interactive map and listings.
Popular sites such as Osgoode Hall, the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant, and the Don Jail are expected to draw large crowds, particularly during peak hours.
