CST Foundation Expands Awards and Bursaries Program to Support Canadian Students
TORONTO – The Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation (CST) has announced the launch of its 2025 Awards and Bursaries program, significantly increasing its financial commitment to Canadian post-secondary students. This year, CST will provide $290,000 in awards and bursaries to support 45 students across the country. Applications are open until Friday, April 25, 2025.
CST’s initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on students pursuing post-secondary education. The program consists of two key components: the Founders’ Awards and the CST Foundation Bursaries. The Founders’ Awards, valued at $7,000 each, are available to 20 students who have benefited from a Canadian Scholarship Trust Plan (RESP) and are entering or continuing undergraduate studies. Meanwhile, the CST Foundation Bursaries, worth $6,000 each, are designed for 25 students who require financial assistance to access post-secondary education for the first time. These bursaries cover various educational pathways, including university degrees and apprenticeships.
“With the rising cost of living, post-secondary education can feel unattainable for many families. That’s why we expanded our Awards and Bursaries program this year as a tangible commitment to our mission of improving access to post-secondary education,” said Peter Lewis, President and CEO of CST. “Our Awards and Bursaries program is just one way we continue to deliver on this mission. We look forward to reviewing this year’s applications.”
To raise awareness about this opportunity, CST has partnered with myBlueprint, an organization dedicated to supporting student success through career exploration and pathway planning.
Since its founding in 1960, CST has been dedicated to improving access to post-secondary education, helping nearly 700,000 Canadian families save for their children’s futures. To date, CST has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and bursaries to students across Canada.
