Crayola Launches First-Ever Global Colour Vote, Invites Canadians to Shape the Next Iconic Crayon Collection

TORONTO — Crayola is making back-to-school season brighter by launching its first-ever Global Colour Vote, a worldwide initiative giving fans a chance to help select colours for an exclusive new collection of crayons, markers, and coloured pencils. For the first time in its 122-year history, Crayola is inviting people everywhere to vote on the colours that mean the most to them.

A Creative Invitation for All Ages

Colour lovers can vote now through September 30, 2025 by visiting crayola.com/votenow or scanning QR codes on Crayola’s “What’s Your Favorite Colour?” back-to-school products, including:

  • 24-count Crayons

  • 24-count Coloured Pencils

  • 10-count Broad Line Washable Markers

The selected colours will form a new global collection that reflects the emotions, nostalgia, and identity tied to colour across different cultures.

Building on the Success of Retired Favourites

The campaign follows the success of Crayola’s Limited Edition Retired Colour Collection, which saw classic shades like Dandelion, Blizzard Blue, and Magic Mint return for a short time. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and now Crayola wants to hear what other shades people want to see brought back — or celebrated anew.

“Colour is part of one’s identity: who we are, how we feel, how we live our lives,” said Pete Ruggiero, President and CEO of Crayola. “With this global colour vote, Crayola will bring innovation to the market that directly reflects the global consumer.”

Colour Is More Than Just Visual

According to the 2024 Colour Perception Survey, commissioned by Crayola in partnership with the Ad Council Research Institute, colour plays a powerful role in human emotion and self-expression. Findings from the national study show:

  • 88% said colour is the most impactful element in planning meaningful life moments.

  • 87% believe colour significantly impacts creativity.

  • Colour is deeply tied to beauty, uniqueness, and emotional memory.

“The 2025 Global Colour Vote celebrates the incredible power that colour has to connect us to our emotions and memories,” said Victoria Lozano, Chief Marketing Officer at Crayola. “We’re excited to see which colours resonate most deeply with people around the world.”

Back-to-School with Crayola Canada

Teachers and families can find “What’s Your Favorite Colour?” products at major Canadian retailers. The company also encourages shoppers to stock up on bulk packs for classrooms and to grab the Retired Colour Collection before it disappears again.

Crayola’s back-to-school lineup promises the same value, quality, and creative inspiration that generations of Canadians have come to trust.

Survey Methodology

The Crayola Colour Perception Survey was conducted from October 16–23, 2024 in partnership with the Ad Council Research Institute, surveying 1,503 parents of children aged 2–12 across the United States and Canada.
