Costco to Open First Warehouse in Brantford, Featuring Ontario’s First Sushi Department

Brantford – Costco Wholesale Canada is set to make waves in Brantford with the opening of its newest warehouse, located off Wayne Gretzky Parkway near Lynden Park Mall. This facility will be the first Costco in Ontario to offer a dedicated sushi department, providing customers with a fresh and unique experience alongside traditional Costco offerings.

The warehouse, opening Friday, November 8, 2024, will also feature 24 gas pumps, 813 parking spots, and a selection of alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, champagne, and ready-to-drink options. In total, the new location has created 180 permanent and 80 seasonal jobs, promising both convenience and economic growth for the Brantford community.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the official opening at 6:30 a.m., with notable attendees including MP Larry Brock, MPP Will Bouma, Brantford Mayor Ken Davis, and representatives from local First Nations communities, Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill of the Six Nations of the Grand River and Ogimaa-Kwe (Chief Sault) of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Costco executives, such as Gino Dorico, Senior Vice-President & Country Manager, and Derek Campbell, Vice President of Operations for Eastern Canada, will also be present to celebrate the launch.

The warehouse will open to the public immediately following the ceremony at 7:00 a.m., offering Brantford residents a chance to explore the latest Costco amenities and become members of the global wholesale chain renowned for its competitive pricing and quality products.
