Corona Celebrates 100 Years with Global Beach List Featuring Canadian Shores
TORONTO — As the iconic beer brand Corona marks its 100th anniversary, the company is celebrating a century of beach culture by unveiling the Corona Beach 100 — a curated list of the world’s top 100 beaches. Among the scenic selections are two standout Canadian destinations: Cox Bay Beach in Tofino, British Columbia, and Little Cove Beach in Tobermory, Ontario.
The list, revealed on April 25, is part of a broader centennial campaign rooted in Corona’s core philosophy — reconnecting with nature and embracing the beachside lifestyle. Created with input from a global panel of oceanographers, surfers, divers, and environmental experts, the guide highlights beaches based on three criteria: scenic beauty, cultural vibe, and harmony with nature. Each beach receives a “Sun Award” rating of one to three suns.
“This anniversary is not just a celebration of our legacy, but also a call for consumers to embrace their beach side, both now and for the next 100 years,” said Mike D’Agostini, Senior Marketing Director of Corona Canada.
Cox Bay Beach, a popular surf haven on Vancouver Island’s west coast, and Little Cove Beach, known for its turquoise waters and rugged limestone coastlines on the Bruce Peninsula, earned recognition for their natural charm and ability to inspire Canadians to disconnect from urban life.
To bring the celebration home, Corona Canada is planning a special beach-themed experience in downtown Toronto. While full details remain under wraps, the brand hints at an immersive installation at Yonge-Dundas Square on May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m., inviting Torontonians to unplug and reconnect in the heart of the city.
Originally brewed in Mexico in 1925, Corona has grown into a global symbol of relaxation and natural connection. The brand was named the World’s Most Valuable Beer Brand in 2024 by Kantar’s BrandZ Global Rankings.
