Cooksville SNAP Launch Brings Tree Planting and Climate Action to Mississauga
MISSISSAUGA – Mississauga is taking a greener step forward with the launch of the Cooksville Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP)—a community-driven blueprint for building a more livable, climate-resilient neighbourhood.
Developed in partnership with Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), the City of Mississauga, the Region of Peel, and local organizations, the Cooksville SNAP reflects two years of public engagement, during which nearly 2,400 residents helped shape its vision. The result is an action plan anchored by five key goals and 29 targeted actions—ranging from improved access to fresh food to safer active transportation options and urban climate adaptation.
To celebrate the plan’s official launch, the CVC is hosting a tree planting event on Saturday, May 10 at Cooksville Park.
