City of Toronto Opens 2025 Golf Season with Year-Round Simulators and Expanded Community Programming
Toronto, ON – The City of Toronto has officially kicked off its 2025 golf season, unveiling a suite of new additions including indoor golf simulators at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course and expanded community-focused programming aimed at seniors, women, and youth.
All five municipal golf courses — Dentonia Park, Don Valley, Humber Valley, Scarlett Woods, and Tam O’Shanter — are now open for the season. Notably, Tam O’Shanter now features two year-round indoor golf simulators and a newly completed full cart path to enhance accessibility and play.
This year, the City is ramping up efforts to make golf more inclusive and engaging through a wide array of special programming:
-
30 free learn-to-golf clinics for juniors, seniors, and women
-
40 community events held at local courses
-
45 Junior Summer Camps for youth aged 7 to 14
-
Women’s-only leagues at all five City courses

Beyond the fairway, the courses double as multi-use spaces, hosting movie nights, holiday events, and winter activities such as disc golf, hiking, and dog walking — reflecting the City’s commitment to recreational diversity.
According to the City, more than 248,000 rounds of golf were played in 2024 — a record-high that underscores the sport’s growing popularity in Toronto. City-run courses remain a draw thanks to their affordability, transit accessibility, and welcoming environment for all skill levels.
Advance tee time bookings are encouraged and can be made up to seven days ahead via the City’s website. Rental equipment is available at all course clubhouses, and Humber Valley continues to offer a complimentary accessible golf cart for players with mobility needs.
“Tee times are staggered every 10 minutes and will adjust with the season to allow play from dawn to dusk,” the City confirmed.
Deputy Mayor Mike Colle, Vice-Chair of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee, said, “The City of Toronto’s golf courses provide an accessible and affordable way for families and seniors to enjoy the sport. Our five golf courses provide an ideal opportunity for both beginners as well as a top-tier experience for seasoned golfers.”
