City of Toronto Kicks Off Search for Local Artists to Design FIFA World Cup 26™ Host City Poster

Toronto – The City of Toronto is calling on local artists and designers to showcase their creativity by designing the official FIFA World Cup 26™ Host City poster. This exciting initiative offers a platform for Toronto’s talent to capture the essence of the city as it prepares to host six matches of the world’s largest sporting event.

As one of the proud Host Cities for FIFA World Cup 26™, Toronto aims to reflect its cultural vibrancy through the official poster, which will embody the city’s identity and the World Cup’s local theme, “The World in a City.” The chosen design will represent Toronto’s unique character and the spirit of the tournament, making a global impact.

Eligible participants must be at least 18 years old as of October 15, 2024, and reside in Toronto. The submission process begins with an expression of interest, due by 11:59 p.m. on October 29, 2024. Artists and designers are required to submit a brief biography (up to 250 words) and a portfolio of up to 10 examples of previous work. No design proposals are needed at this stage.

World Cup Matches on Canadian Soil

Toronto is gearing up for a historic moment, with the city set to host the first-ever men’s FIFA World Cup™ match in Canada on June 12, 2026. The city will also host a round of 32 match on July 2, 2026, as part of the expanded 104-match format. The tournament, taking place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, spans three countries—Canada, the U.S., and Mexico—and features 48 teams, making it the most inclusive edition of the World Cup yet.
