City of Toronto Invites Residents to Participate in 2025 Budget Consultations

TORONTO – The City of Toronto is calling on residents to weigh in on the 2025 Budget through a series of telephone town halls and public meetings. The consultations aim to ensure that the City’s financial priorities align with the needs and concerns of Torontonians.

Mayor Olivia Chow and Budget Committee Chair Councillor Shelley Carroll (Don Valley North) will host two telephone town halls, joined by senior City staff. These sessions will provide residents with an overview of the proposed 2025 Budget and an opportunity to ask questions or share feedback.

The telephone town halls are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday, January 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, January 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Residents can participate by answering an incoming call or dialing toll-free at 1-833-380-0687 at the designated times.

In-Person Engagement Opportunities

In addition to the telephone town halls, residents can provide input during in-person and virtual public meetings on January 21 and January 22. Meetings will be held at the following locations:

Tuesday, January 21:

  • Toronto City Hall, Committee Room 1, 100 Queen St. W.
  • Scarborough Civic Centre, Council Chamber, 150 Borough Dr.

Wednesday, January 22:

  • Etobicoke Civic Centre, Council Chamber, 399 The West Mall
  • North York Civic Centre, Council Chamber, 5100 Yonge St.

Meeting times for all locations are:

  • 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • 6 p.m. onwards

Residents wishing to address the Budget Committee must register by emailing buc@toronto.ca or calling 416-392-4666 before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 20. Participants are asked to indicate their preferred day and timeslot. Instructions on how to join the meeting will be provided upon registration.
