City of Mississauga Appoints Graham Walsh as New City Solicitor
Mississauga – The City of Mississauga has announced the appointment of Graham Walsh as the new City Solicitor and Director of Legal Services, effective immediately. In his new role, Walsh will oversee all aspects of the City’s Legal Services team and report directly to the City Manager and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Walsh, who originally joined the City of Mississauga in 2012 as legal counsel, has a distinguished career in municipal law. He has managed several key legal portfolios at both the City and the Region of Peel. Most recently, he served as the Regional Solicitor and Director of Legal Services for the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
Walsh’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from King’s University College, Western University, a Master of Arts from the Royal Military College of Canada, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. His commitment to service is further reflected in his receipt of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers. Walsh is also the Vice-Chair of the Municipal Law Department’s Association of Ontario and an alumnus of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference.
In addition to his legal career, Walsh has a notable background in the Canadian Army Reserve, where he holds the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and is a former Commanding Officer of the Toronto Scottish Regiment. In 2010, he was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Canada’s mission to rebuild Kandahar Province.

His experience, leadership skills, and deep understanding of municipal governance will be invaluable. Graham will provide essential legal guidance to the Council, senior leadership, and City staff as they continue to deliver the municipal programs and services residents rely on.”
Walsh expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I’m excited to return to the City and to apply my legal expertise and experience in this new role.
