Cineplex Community Day Returns November 15 with Free Movies and Games Across Canada
13th annual event supports BGC Canada and offers family fun at Cineplex, The Rec Room, and Playdium locations
TORONTO — Cineplex has announced the return of its beloved Community Day on Saturday, November 15, inviting families across Canada to enjoy a morning of free movies, free gaming, and discounted treats while supporting a great cause. Now in its 13th year, the annual event benefits BGC Canada (Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada) — the country’s largest youth-serving organization, dedicated to helping children and teens reach their full potential.
“Cineplex Community Day is consistently one of my favourite days of the year, as we welcome guests from communities across the country to join us for a morning of free movies or to engage in some friendly competition at The Rec Room or Playdium,” said Ellis Jacob, President and CEO of Cineplex. “Over the past 13 years, our Community Day event has supported multiple charities, making differences in the communities in which we live and work.”
Free Movies and Discounted Treats
Guests can claim free movie tickets in person at participating Cineplex theatres between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (local time), available on a first-come, first-served basis. This year’s lineup, presented in partnership with Universal Pictures, includes family favourites such as Minions: The Rise of Gru, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Sing 2, and The Wild Robot.
Until 11:00 a.m., guests can enjoy $3 popcorn, drinks, and select candy, while XSCAPE arcade locations will offer 30 minutes of free gaming for added fun before the show.
Games and Fun at The Rec Room and Playdium
At The Rec Room and Playdium, families can get into the action from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with free one-hour game bands for non-redemption games. Until noon, The Rec Room will serve $3 fries and mini donuts, while Playdium guests can grab $3 fries, popcorn, drinks, or candy.
Giving Back to BGC Canada
Throughout the day, Cineplex will donate $1 from every food and beverage purchase, playcard reload, and game band reload at The Rec Room, Playdium, and XSCAPE to BGC Canada.
Serving over 600 communities, BGC Canada provides children and youth with safe, supportive spaces where they can grow, learn, and thrive. More than 90% of BGC members report feeling more confident and making better choices thanks to the programs they attend.
