Caroline Mulroney

Caroline Mulroney Lapham, born on June 11, 1974, in Montreal, Quebec, is the eldest daughter of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. Raised in a politically active family, Mulroney spent her formative years in Ottawa, attending Lycée Claudel d’Ottawa. She pursued her higher education at Harvard University, earning an undergraduate degree in Government, before obtaining her J.D. degree from New York University School of Law. During her time in law school, Mulroney interned at the New York Attorney General’s office, igniting her passion for public-interest law.

Career in Finance and Law

Following her academic pursuits, Mulroney embarked on a successful career in finance and law. She worked as a financial analyst at Bear Stearns and later as an associate at Shearman & Sterling, specializing in Compensation, Governance, and ERISA. Additionally, she served as an associate director at the NYU Center for Law & Business.
