According to the Prime Minister’s Office, leaders underscored their united support for Ukraine and committed to ensuring the country’s ability to deter future Russian aggression. They also pledged to maintain economic pressure on Russia and to intensify sanctions if Russia rejects the latest peace efforts.
The group voiced strong backing for a U.S.-led proposal for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire. Leaders warned that if Moscow refuses to participate or delays the process, coordinated action would follow.
Canada continues to play a leading role among NATO and G7 allies supporting Ukraine through military, financial, and humanitarian assistance, as well as through sanctions targeting Russian leadership and industries.
