Carney and Denmark’s PM Frederiksen Discuss Arctic Security and NATO Cooperation
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke Thursday with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in a continued effort to reinforce Canada’s strategic partnerships in Europe and the Arctic.
Frederiksen congratulated Carney on his recent election win. The two leaders reaffirmed their countries’ strong relationship and emphasized the importance of working together to strengthen collective defence and global security — particularly in the Arctic and through NATO cooperation.

Both Canada and Denmark are key NATO allies with overlapping interests in Arctic sovereignty, climate resilience, and international rule of law in northern regions.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Carney and Frederiksen looked forward to deepening bilateral relations and agreed to remain in close contact as they advance shared priorities.
