Canadian Chefs Gear Up for S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition 2024-25
Toronto – In the heart of Canada’s culinary scene, anticipation is building as the sixth edition of the esteemed S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition beckons aspiring culinary talents to showcase their skills on a global platform. With applications now open until June 19, 2024, Canadian chefs are eagerly preparing to seize this unparalleled opportunity to leave their mark on the international gastronomic stage.
Renowned for its commitment to discovering and nurturing emerging culinary talent, S.Pellegrino has once again assembled a distinguished panel of judges, with three of Canada’s most celebrated chefs poised to play a pivotal role in the competition. Normand Laprise of Montreal’s iconic Toqué!, Jason Bangerter from Langdon Hall in picturesque Cambridge, and Nuit Regular, the creative force behind Toronto’s vibrant culinary landscape, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the judging panel.
Expressing his excitement, Chef Normand Laprise shared, “It’s an honour to be involved in nurturing the next generation of culinary talent. I look forward to witnessing the creativity and skill of young chefs across Canada and helping to guide them on their culinary journey.”

The competition, open to chefs under 30 years of age, invites participants to submit the recipe of a signature dish that reflects their personal vision, unique skills, and creativity. Culinary talents selected by ALMA, the International School of Italian Culinary Arts, will advance to the Regional Finals, culminating in the Grand Finale event where the global title will be contested.
