Canada Blanks France 5–0, Remains Undefeated at IIHF Worlds

Horvat scores twice, Binnington earns shutout as Canada improves to 3–0 in Group A

STOCKHOLM — Team Canada continued its dominant run at the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship with a 5–0 shutout victory over France on Tuesday at Avicii Arena. The win keeps Canada undefeated in Group A, outscoring opponents 16–1 through three games.

Bo Horvat led the offense with two goals, including the game’s opener at 6:32 of the first period and a power-play marker in the third. Sidney Crosby notched his first goal of the tournament, while Will Cuylle and Brandon Montour also found the back of the net.

Goaltender Jordan Binnington made 15 saves to secure the shutout in his tournament debut. Canada outshot France 36–15, controlling play throughout the match.

Canada’s next game is against Austria on Thursday, May 15, at 2:20 p.m. ET.
