Campfire Circle Launches 2025 Paddle Project to Support Kids with Cancer Across Ontario

Celebrities, artists, and athletes design one-of-a-kind canoe paddles to fund medically supported camp programs

TORONTO — Campfire Circle, the Ontario-based charitable organization that brings healing through happiness to children with cancer or serious illnesses, has launched its 2025 Paddle Project — a unique art auction running from October 9 to November 7, 2025.

The initiative raises critical funds for Campfire Circle’s play-based programs offered year-round in paediatric hospitals, community settings, and at two medically supported overnight camps across Ontario.

This year’s Paddle Project features over 100 one-of-a-kind canoe paddles, each transformed into a piece of art by some of Canada’s most recognizable names in entertainment, sports, and design.

A Paddle for a Purpose

High-profile contributors to the 2025 Paddle Project include Sarah McLachlan, Jann Arden, Mike Myers, Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, Jay Baruchel, and Gerry Dee, alongside acclaimed Canadian creatives such as Caitlin Cronenberg, Ali Budd, The Beckerman Twins, Maggie Devereux, and Indigenous artist Patrick Hunter.

Even local sports icons have joined the cause — with specially signed paddles from the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and Toronto FC, underscoring how communities across the country are rallying together for children’s health and well-being.

“We’re deeply grateful to the Canadian artists, athletes and community partners who lend their voices and talents to the Paddle Project,” said Alex Robertson, CEO of Campfire Circle. “Their involvement empowers us to foster resilience, well-being and lifelong connections for children with serious illnesses and their families by providing kids with joyful camp experiences.”

Healing Through Happiness

For more than 40 years, Campfire Circle — formerly Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium — has provided free programs that help children living with cancer experience the joy and freedom of childhood, even amid medical challenges.

Through initiatives like the Paddle Project, the organization funds its hospital-based play programs, community activities, and medically supported overnight camps, all designed to build confidence, connection, and creativity in a safe and inclusive environment.

Select paddles from this year’s collection will be displayed at the Bonfire Bash Gala on November 5 at Fort York Armoury, before the online auction closes on November 7 at 1 p.m. EST.
