Burlington Seeks Residents for Two Key Civic Committees
Applications open until May 30 for the School Traffic Safety & Mobility Committee and the Council Remuneration Review Working Group.
BURLINGTON – The City of Burlington is currently seeking volunteers to serve on two key committees: the School Traffic Safety & Mobility Committee and the Council Remuneration Review Working Group. The application deadline for both committees has been extended to May 30, 2025.
School Traffic Safety & Mobility Committee
This committee focuses on enhancing safety for students traveling to and from schools in Burlington. Responsibilities include assessing traffic risks around school areas, advising on pedestrian and cyclist safety, and recommending improvements for school crossing guard locations. Members are expected to conduct site visits and collaborate with city staff and school boards.

Council Remuneration Review Working Group
This working group is tasked with reviewing and making recommendations on the compensation and benefits for the Mayor and City Councillors for the 2026 to 2030 term. Members will analyze current policies, compare data with similar municipalities, and propose updates to ensure fair and equitable remuneration.
Interested residents aged 18 and over are encouraged to apply. Participation offers an opportunity to contribute to the community, expand one’s network, and gain insight into local governance.
