Brantford Selected to Host 2027 Ontario Parasport Games
Ontario Parasport Games bring provincial investment, tourism and inclusive sport to Brantford
BRANTFORD, ON — Brantford has been selected to host the 2027 Ontario Parasport Games, with the Ontario government investing $200,000 to support the province’s largest multi-sport competition for para-athletes.
The investment was announced by the Ministry of Sport as part of Ontario’s broader effort to support inclusive sport, drive domestic tourism and strengthen local economies across the province.
Provincial Investment and Economic Impact
Ontario’s $200,000 investment will support the City of Brantford and the local Games Organizing Committee in planning and delivering the 2027 Ontario Parasport Games.
The event is expected to welcome more than 400 participants, including athletes, coaches and assistants, and generate an estimated $750,000 in economic impact for Brantford through tourism, accommodations, food services and local spending.

About the Ontario Parasport Games
The Ontario Parasport Games are the province’s largest multi-sport event dedicated to para-athletes and are held every two years.
The 2027 Games will feature competition across 10 sports, including:

Wheelchair curling
The Games provide athletes with critical competitive experience as they prepare for higher-level events such as the Canada Games, Parapan American Games and the Paralympic Games.
Brantford’s Experience as a Host City
Brantford was selected following a competitive provincial bidding process and brings a proven track record of hosting major multi-sport events.
The city previously hosted the 2023 Ontario 55+ Summer Games and the 2017 Ontario Parasport Games, demonstrating its capacity to deliver accessible facilities, strong volunteer engagement and community-wide support for large-scale sporting events.
