Brampton Steelheads Trade Liam Spencer to London Knights and Swap Future Draft Picks
BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Steelheads have completed a pair of trades with the London Knights, marking significant roster changes and strategic draft planning. The first trade sees Liam Spencer, a promising young defenseman, heading to the London Knights in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection (LDN).
In a separate deal, the Steelheads traded their 2025 2nd Round Pick (LDN) to the Knights for a 2025 4th Round Pick (WSR) and a 2028 2nd Round Pick (LDN). This move underscores the Steelheads’ commitment to long-term team development and strategic asset management.
Liam Spencer, originally drafted by the Mississauga Steelheads in the fourth round (76th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, has been a steady presence on the ice. The London, Ontario native appeared in 12 games over the past two seasons, contributing two assists.
These trades reflect the dynamic nature of the OHL, where teams continuously seek to balance immediate performance with future potential. Fans of the Brampton Steelheads can look forward to how these strategic decisions will unfold in the seasons ahead.
